Agreement
By accessing or using Prism (“the platform”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Prism’s operator regarding your use of the platform.
What Prism is
Prism is a free, independently operated tool that helps financial practitioners compare physical climate risk data across providers. It provides AI-assisted analysis of methodology documents, RFP responses, risk reports, and portfolio data, grounded in IPCC AR6 science.
Prism is a personal project, privately funded. It is not a company, a financial advisor, a data provider, or a regulated entity. It does not represent, endorse, or act on behalf of any climate risk provider, insurer, asset manager, or other organisation.
Eligibility
Prism is available to professionals who register with a valid work email address. Personal email domains (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and similar) are blocked. You must be at least 18 years old. By registering, you confirm you are using the platform in a professional capacity.
Accounts
You access Prism via a magic link sent to your work email. There are no passwords. You are responsible for the security of your email account. If you suspect unauthorised access to your Prism account, contact [email protected] immediately.
Accounts are personal. Do not share your magic link with others. Each person should register with their own work email.
Cost
Prism is completely free. There are no fees, subscriptions, premium tiers, usage limits tied to payment, or in-app purchases. This may change in the future, but any introduction of paid features would be communicated in advance and would never retroactively restrict access to functionality you currently use for free.
Your data
You retain full ownership of everything you upload to Prism. Your documents, data files, and the content of your conversations belong to you. Prism does not claim any rights over your content.
By uploading documents, you grant Prism a limited, non-exclusive licence to process those documents solely for the purpose of providing you with AI-assisted analysis. This licence terminates immediately when you delete the document or your account.
Your data is private. It is not shared with other users, providers, advertisers, or any third party, except as required to operate the service (see the Privacy Policy for the complete list of third-party services). Your data is never used for model training, product analytics, or marketing.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Use Prism for any unlawful purpose. Upload malicious files, malware, or content designed to exploit the platform. Attempt to access other users’ data, accounts, or sessions. Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically download content from the platform. Use the platform to generate misleading reports that misrepresent AI-generated analysis as independent human expert opinion. Resell access to the platform or its outputs. Use automated tools to interact with the platform at scale without prior written permission.
AI-generated analysis
Prism’s analysis is generated by an AI model (Anthropic Claude) using the documents you provide and IPCC AR6 reference material. While the analysis is designed to be rigorous, science-grounded, and provider-agnostic, it is not a substitute for professional judgment.
AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. You are responsible for independently verifying any analysis before using it to inform investment decisions, risk assessments, regulatory filings, or any other material purpose.
Prism does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or actuarial assessments. Nothing on this platform should be construed as such.
Provider-contributed content
Some analysis may reference methodology documents voluntarily contributed by climate risk providers through Prism’s Provider Portal. These documents remain the intellectual property of their respective providers. Prism uses them to ensure provider methodologies are represented accurately in comparisons. Provider contributions do not imply endorsement of Prism by the provider, or endorsement of the provider by Prism.
Intellectual property
The Prism platform, its design, code, and brand are the property of its operator. The IPCC AR6 reference material used in analysis is published under the IPCC’s own terms.
You may copy, share, and use AI-generated analysis outputs from your own sessions for any legitimate professional purpose. You may not represent Prism’s outputs as your own original research without attribution.
Availability and reliability
Prism is provided on an “as is” basis. There is no service level agreement, no uptime guarantee, and no warranty of uninterrupted access. The platform may be taken offline for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances without notice.
As a free, personally funded project, Prism may be discontinued at any time. If this happens, registered users will be given reasonable notice and the opportunity to export their data before the platform is shut down.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Prism and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of the platform.
This limitation applies whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis, even if Prism has been advised of the possibility of such damage. In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, Prism’s liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Given that the platform is provided at no cost, you acknowledge that this limitation of liability is reasonable.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prism’s operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third party’s rights through content you upload.
Termination
You may stop using Prism at any time. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting [email protected].
Prism may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy’s deletion schedule (permanent purge within 7 days).
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
